Reykjavík, Iceland...

Summer 2018 | July 29- August 2nd

Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavik was the final stop of my mini European exploration this past summer. I did spend a day in Helsinki, Finland, but there is not much to report on considering I only ate and drank beer.

It was raining when I landed in Reykjavik. So, I immediately headed to my hostel, Hlemmur Square, in the city center hoping to get a jump start on my weekend. There were however some issues my first night. I had no money to spend because I lost my card in Spain, and I had no way of changing the Euros I had on my person. Needless to say, I was mad hungry the entire night, and if you know me well, you’d know I like when my mouth is constantly moving with food on the inside. So, I was royally screwed!

Luckily, I had a knight in shining armor to save. After calling around to a few food joints to see who was willing to accept my Euros, a god sent angel who manages an American cuisine spot called Roadhouse Reykjavík, saved my tummy. I ate like I hadn’t eaten in a week. The service was fantastic, food was excellent, and I recommend you going there because it was just what I needed after not having American food in over two months.

My five day plan also turned into a weekend trip because of some visa issues. It was a trip, quite literally and metaphorically. All my sightseeing was crammed into a day a and a half because I wished not to be fined for overstaying in the Schengen Area.

My five day plan suddenly had to be condensed into three days so I had to get my shxt together and I did. I made it work. So, instead of me going off about my adventure, let the photos below each speak a thousand words and more. Just know, that the country is beautiful , the people are pleasant, everything is expensive, and it is worth the trip!

Until Next Time…

Great Exploring…
